One of the world's leading English language periodicals for scholarship and research in religious education, the journal was founded in 1934 under the title Religion in Education. In 1961 the title was changed to Learning for Living: A Journal for Christian Education. Hull became editor in 1971 and in 1978 the title was changed to British Journal of Religious Education, and Hull gave up the editorship in 1996.
