Current Speaking Engagements

Since joining the Queens' Foundation, John Hull has been concentrating on his teaching and writing, and his speaking programme is more limited. Here are some examples of the talks he is still giving.


2011
 
May 19th-26th The International Peace Convocation of the World Council of Churches (WCC) meeting in the
University of the West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica to mark the end of the WCC Decade against Violence.
Invited to present a workshop on ‘Training for a Prophetic Church’.

2010
 
December 4th Lectures on ‘Critical Thinking in Christianity and in Education’ to alumni of the
Institute of Ismaili Studies (London), meeting in the Ismaili Centre, Dubai.
October 27th Guest of Honour at the Inauguration of the ECHO project created by the German artist Felix Weinhold
in the Augsburg public library in Germany.
The project took passages from Hull’s book In the Beginning there was Darkness, turning them into
German Braille and decorating the central staircase handrail as a symbol of the inclusion of disabled people.
February 17th-19th Lectures on the spirituality of blindness in the Disability and Culture Research Programme
in the Social and Cultural Anthropology Department of Leuven University in Belgium.
