IN THE BEGINNING THERE WAS DARKNESS:
A BLIND PERSONíS CONVERSATIONS WITH THE BIBLE
When I lost my sight in 1980 and began to read the Bible in braille, I became aware of the negative attitude towards blindness which is typical of much of the Bible. However, I did not have an opportunity to investigate the subject until the late 1990s. In The Beginning is, as far as I know, the first book to interpret the Bible as a product of a sighted culture.
